First United Methodist Church is an open community of faith that seeks and welcomes people into the Body of Christ where together we may deepen our commitment to God and nurture one another in the Christian faith that we may live lives of love and justice for the transformation of the world. As United Methodists we are a church of open minds, open hearts and open doors, growing in faith, engaged in mission with the community and world, and moving ever closer to Christ and toward one another in the love Jesus shows us and commands us to share in his church and with all we meet. First United Methodist Church was the first congregation founded in Kenosha. Since 1835 it has faithfully lived the gospel message of love and service in themidst of this community.

 

A church of 500 members and many friends we are known as the church with the Big Heart. In our seventh building since 1929, our historic building in in constant use by church and community and houses our Day Care which serves 100 children from our area. We are partnered with charitable agencies throughout the community and our members are in service at every level of the life of our community.

 

We are a church fueled by our experience of the grace of Jesus Christ. He is the center of all that we do, our hearts are aflame by his Spirit among us. As a church of cross and flame we can proclaim with confidence Christ is at the center of our life together, our hearts are on fire with his love. Catch the Spirit at First UMC.
