Gracious God, whose grace created us, whose grace redeems us, whose grace sustains us, keep      us mindful that your mercies to us come in the midst of our sin.
Our world is broken by sin. We, too, sin. Remind us, Lord, that you came to redeem us because      we needed redeeming. You send your Spirit because the world needs saving. Renew us by the      power of your cross. Free us from sin’s hold on us and on your world that we may know newness      of life. Help us know the depth of the debt we owe you and the degree of the love you have for      us in Christ Jesus, our Lord. Amen.

O God, you made us to be creative and expressive people,

and you have given us the gift of music to give voice to our praise.

We sing because you have commanded, "Sing to the Lord a new song!"

We sing because it connects us with our heritage and tradition.

We sing because it proclaims our faith today.

We sing because it gives us new words and music,
     new ways of praising you.

There are times, O God, when words alone cannot express what we feel,

and in those times of sorrow, suffering, and loss,
your gift of music helps us to express the inexpressible.

And today, Lord, we offer our special prayer of thanksgiving for those who have cultivated your gift of      musical expression in our midst, teaching us, leading us, comforting and inspiring us, directing and      accompanying us so ably and so faithfully each week in worship.

Grant them the power of your presence, the sustaining of your grace,
and the joy of being found faithful in their service,
     through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

     *Gospel Processional
“Spirit, I Have Heard You Calling”

Spirit, I have heard you calling, like a mem’ry long grown dim,
Crying from creation’s moment, seeking voice from deep within.
I have heard you in my longing. I have heard you in my pain.
Now I feel you moving in me, feel you burning like a flame.

Now I see you all around me, now I hear you call my name.
Now I speak the words you give me, now I feed creation’s flame.
You are speaking through my longing. You are speaking through my pain.
Now I feel you moving in me, and I’ll never be the same.

“Spirit, I Have Heard You Calling”

Since you moved upon my waters, since you spoke and set me free,
I have yearned for this communion, for your fire inside of me!
Now your love defines my longing. Now your love shines thru my pain.
Now we dance in endless union, singing out creation’s name!
